Have you ever wondered how a form or pattern thousands of years old can be brought back to life with today's latest technologies? Istanbul-based design studio FormaSupra pursues precisely this question, creating a world that pushes the boundaries of art, design, and technology. So, who is behind this exciting adventure, and what does FormaSupra offer us?

Who is FormaSupra: A Quest Beyond Form

FormaSupra was born from the shared vision of artist duo Ahmet Rüstem Ekici and Hakan Sorar , who conduct in-depth research in fields such as archaeology, the body, and architecture. For them, FormaSupra is not just a brand, but also a "creative laboratory" where they explore new generation production techniques and design concepts. Their fundamental philosophy is to go beyond the known with an understanding "Beyond Form," combining the inspiration they draw from the rich cultural heritage of the past and nature with the endless possibilities of the digital world.

The Creation Process: The Dance Between Digital Craftsmanship and Artificial Intelligence

How do FormaSupra designs come about? The answer lies in "digital craftsmanship" and the clever use of technology. The brand embraces 3D printing technology as a modern form of handcraft, a contemporary artisan. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a significant role in the design process. Sometimes, AI tools are used to create three-dimensional forms directly from written text commands (Text-to-3D), and other times, unique patterns and shapes are generated using algorithms. This is a collaboration born from the interaction of human intuition and machine intelligence, yielding unique results every time.

What they offer: Wearable art and sculptural objects.

FormaSupra's product range is quite diverse, and each tells its own story:

  • 3D Printed Bags and Charms: Inspired by ancient bag and basket forms from archaeological reliefs, they have a modern and sculptural look.

  • Scarves Brought to Life with Augmented Reality (AR): Textile products inspired by the colorful patterns of Anatolia come to life with a digital layer when viewed through the Artivive application, offering an interactive experience.

  • "Non-Fading" 3D Printed Flowers and Vases: Designed with artificial intelligence and featuring a low-polygon aesthetic, these flowers and their accompanying artistic vase forms add lasting elegance to spaces.

All these products are made from PLA, a biodegradable and vegan material derived from plant sources such as corn starch, and are typically produced in limited edition series of 100 pieces, many of which gain a digital identity via QR code.

Why FormaSupra?

What makes FormaSupra special isn't just its use of advanced technology or the aesthetic products it offers. Its true difference lies in its ability to combine respect for the deep cultural heritage of the past with the technologies of the future and a sustainable production approach. Each FormaSupra piece is more than just an object; it's the embodiment of a thought, a research, and an artistic expression.
