How did Formasupra 3D Printed flowers sprout?

We are a design duo who love fresh flowers and take great pleasure in sharing our studio and living spaces with plants. We cherish the vibrant, breathing energy of nature; however, just like our carefully tended real plants, the everlasting, timeless presence of Formasupra flowers is a passion of ours.

Behind these designs lies a very fun and poetic cycle for us: PLA material, derived from plant sources such as sugarcane and corn starch, passes through our algorithms and transforms back into a "plant" figure...


After a long and meticulous R&D process, we launched Formasupra in June 2025. When designing our first collections, we consciously centered our design around the "low poly" aesthetic. The first sprouts and steps of the digital world were always low-polygon. We wanted to pay homage to these roots of the digital universe when shaping our designs.

Over time, both our production practices and designs have evolved. From the prismatic and sculptural lines of our early days, we are now progressing towards much more organic, curvilinear, dramatic, and high-resolution details. Some of our new arrangements now have a much more realistic, fluid silhouette. When naming our flowers, we always turn to our own geography; we give them names directly inspired by Anatolia's deep-rooted cultural heritage and nature.


Our production process takes place at the very intersection of a digital laboratory and a traditional workshop. Using algorithms and AI tools, we model our plants, meticulously refine them, and then prepare them for 3D printing. But what makes Formasupra designs special is that first moment they come off the machine. We love the unique, layered nature of 3D printing and prefer to experience it firsthand. That's why we never apply chemical surface finishing or painting to our products after printing.


We assemble and glue the stems, trunks, and flower forms that come out of the printing process one by one with our own hands in our workshop. Even though we use advanced technologies, the reason we call this entire production process "digital craft" is precisely because human labor and touch are so heavily involved.
