Who are we?

Who Are We?
Artist duo Ahmet Rüstem Ekici and Hakan Sorar, who position their production practice at the intersection of art, archaeology, and next-generation technologies; utilizing algorithms and 3D printing as a realm of artistic research.
What is FormaSupra?
FormaSupra is an Istanbul-based design studio that approaches 3D printing technology and augmented reality (AR) as a digital craft discipline, producing sculptural objects and wearable art pieces inspired by archaeology and architecture.
What Do We Produce?
Our main production focus consists of sculptural vases, 3D flowers, and spatial objects conceptualized with AI algorithms and materialized through 3D printers. In addition to our structural bags designed as wearable art, our textile products transform into a multidimensional digital experience through Augmented Reality (AR) technology. To ensure their collectible value, they are strictly limited to 100 editions worldwide.
Museums and Corporate Projects Alongside our own collections, our studio creates site-specific and event-specific productions for institutions. In collaboration with "Müzeden Al" (Buy from the Museum), we design special collections that resonate with cultural heritage for various archaeology museums across Turkey.
Material and Sustainability (What is PLA?)
We use PLA as the primary material in all of our designs. PLA is an eco-friendly bioplastic derived from entirely renewable botanical resources, such as corn starch and sugarcane, and contains no petroleum derivatives. When combined with 3D printing technology, this ecological material translates our studio's vision of sustainability into a physical form.
The Story of the Logo
Our logo is a topographic layer inspired by the idols of Tavşanlı Höyük. The center positions our duo production structure; its outward-flowing, fluid form represents our belief in collaborations and new experiences, while the "mind" structure integrated into the logo symbolizes the collective intelligence of artificial intelligence within our design process.
What Are Our Sources of Inspiration?
World cultural heritage, Anatolian mounds (höyüks), ancient reliefs, the forms of nature, and 3D polygons—the building blocks of digital architecture.
Motto
3D Printed with love.
Where Are We?
You can explore our collections at various archaeology museums through "Müzeden Al", at the Istanbul Modern Museum Shop, at Snob Collector, and in our online store.
Biographies
Ahmet Rüstem Ekici is a multidisciplinary artist working on archaeology, the body, architecture, and optical perception. In his ongoing series, he focuses on spaces transformed by experience. While digitally visualizing these series, which address the relationships between gender, architecture, and the body, he utilizes the storytelling language of archaeological surfaces and objects.
Working with AI/AR/VR, the artist's works have been exhibited at Istanbul Modern, Mardin Biennial Invited, Ars Electronica Concrete House, CADAF Online, XX Art Flânerie, Museari Queer Arts Museum, YARAT Contemporary Art Space, Sonar +D, and the Thessaloniki Queer Arts Festival. Following "Hamam (2019)", one of Turkey's pioneering augmented reality exhibitions, he structured the VR experience "Sauna (2021)" and "Wet Space (2022)" (focusing on restrooms) around queer spaces.
Selected for the American Arts Incubator Amplify 2019 by the U.S. Educational and Cultural Affairs / ZERO1, the artist continues his digital works and explores the potentials of augmented reality. Ahmet Rüstem is a brand ambassador for the AR application Artivive, was featured in the “2023 Meta Creators of Tomorrow” program, and was selected for the Meta Open Arts program. Furthermore, Ahmet Rüstem is a brand ambassador for Bor Sanat.
Born in Adana in 1983, Ahmet Rüstem Ekici graduated from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture at Bilkent University in 2008. He worked as a stage designer for many years. He taught courses titled "Space Design for Camera" and "Illusion in Spaces" at the MEF University Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture. He continues various studies on archaeology and cultural heritage.
Hakan Sorar is a multidisciplinary artist whose journey began with photography and expanded into a wide spectrum of digital imaging techniques. He focuses on the interaction between body and space, the language of surfaces, and concepts of identity. His interest in archaeology leaves deep traces in his work; he contemplates ambiguity and possibilities within the narratives he creates using digital tools. Sorar's works, starting with digital photography and collages, have been enriched by new media techniques such as augmented reality and 3D modeling. In this process, his work has evolved from pieces blending instant film, human figures, and architectural elements into works that question the boundaries of the body and objects, shaped by the endless possibilities of the digital world.
Born in Istanbul in 1991, Sorar began his academic education in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Bülent Ecevit University. After completing his master's degree at the Faculty of Science at Istanbul Medeniyet University, he continues his education in the Communication Design and Semiotics Department at the Faculty of Art and Design at Beykoz University. Sorar's works have been exhibited on international platforms such as Mardin Biennial Invited, Sonar +D, XX Art Flânerie, Istanbul Digital Art Festival, and at museums and art institutions such as YARAT Contemporary and Istanbul Modern. In his first solo VR exhibition, "Through The Skin", organized with PG Art Gallery, he explored themes of body, identity, and digital transformation.
